Megumi and I were talking the other day. She said, "Mama, you are always taking photos of water drops on flowers, but there has never been one of me. Why?"

I have always loved Megumi when she is in low lighting. So, here she is by candlelight. I tried to get this effect before, but it never turned out right. So, I decided to take her photo and try it with Photoshop CS4 myself.

And, this is the end result... soft, gentle, and she is always gorgeous!

MY ARRIVAL STORY


In November 2003, my human Mama asked my human Dad if they could have a cat. His first reaction was that it would be Mama's responsibility to take care of me. He read many cat books and liked my breed. I am a Russian Blue.

I was born in early November. I am from a litter of five kitties. There were three girls and two boys in my litter. It was so hard to leave my birth Mom and go to the pet store. I was born at almost the same time that my human Mama and Dad were talking about having a little girl kitty.

One day, my Mama went looking for a little girl like me. My human Mama visited the first store and found one of my brothers, but he was not happy with being held. At that store, there was one of my sisters, but she was so scared. The lady at that pet store suggested that my Mama go to one of their other stores in the area to see the other kitties from my litter.

So, my Mama went to the store that I was in. I was there with one of my brothers. One of the happiest moments was when I first met my Mama and when she held me. I crawled down her arm and fell asleep. We were so happy being together.

My Mama cried and I did too when the store lady said that the store was closing and I had to be put back into the cage. I really wanted to go home with this lady. I was so lonely at the store for two weeks in a cage all by myself.

But, it must have been too late for me to go home with her. I was so lonely that night and kept wondering where that nice lady went. And, I wondered why I did not go home with her because we were so happy together.

The next morning, I was so happy to see the lady who became my human Mama came back to see me. Mama picked me up two more times. I was always so happy to be with her and I smiled all of the time we were together.

I always cried when I had to be put back into the cage at the store because I thought Mama did not like me. My human Mama surprised me that morning. She had a new pink cat travel case and in about two hours, I was in her car. That was when we were off together to begin my new life. It was at this time that I learned that my new name was going to be Megumi.

My Mama still takes good care of me. My Dad loves me very much, too. And, he is always looking at my silver tipped fur and my green eyes. He loves to play with me when he has returned home from work.



MY SHORT BIOGRAPHY


I am a very friendly Russian Blue cat. My human Mama stayed home with me for the first 10 days to get me to trust her. Mama wanted me to feel happy in my new home. I am so happy Mama found me..

I absolutely adore people who come for a visit. My Mama's friends always love to see me, too. But, if the repairman comes to the apartment, I am put into my house. My house is a big three-story kennel which is in the living room where I can watch TV. Watching the TV helps me calm down until the repairman leaves.

Now, I still ask to sleep in my house at night! It has a nice hammock that I can sleep on and there is lots of food any my potty in my house.

I love to watching TV... especially my cat videos and many types of sports shows. I always try to chase the balls on the TV, but they cannot be touched.

Mama is always buying me a new toy and likes to play with me! Of course, Mama gives me lots of hugs and kisses... these are a favorite thing!

Happy Birthday Megumi!

My little girl is having her birthday!

She will be 6 years old on 2 November. And, it seems only a day or so ago that I met her and she chose me to be her Mama.

Megumi is the brightest part of all of my days! She greets her Mama in the morning with a smile!
